Candlelight Inn

Winnie is a beautiful soul, and Jim was helpful. The rooms are below basic, there's no proper wifi, and there's NO HOT WATER. I was told there was a leak, and it's been two weeks of cold showers.

The room had peeling paint all over the washroom, so I didn't even want to shower. It was - 15 outside when we arrived, but there was no heat in the room, and we had to leave to let the place warm up. We asked for a smoking room and didn't get one. We were told we'd be charged $500.00 if pot was smoked and detected, or $200.00 for regular cigarettes, and had to sign a waiver. They asked if we wanted TV and said they might get it working, but they didn't. There was no radio, phone, or coat hangers either. At checkout the office was supposed to open at 9:00 am, but no one was there at 9:20. The phone number they left didn't work, so we had to go to another hotel to settle up. They owed us our $100.00 deposit. If they're charging over $200.00 a night, they need to fix the rooms and have someone at the office. I'll never stay here again. After all those inconveniences, I think we deserve a refund. I was also told they have 3 other properties. Wow! 😞😞😞😞😞

We asked for a different room after seeing cigarette burns on the carpet and furniture in the first one. It was filthy, smelled musty, and the doorknob was falling apart on the outside. The second room was cleaner, though very old. At least the mattresses were clean and comfortable, and the water pressure was good. I wouldn't book here again, though. I'll post pictures later.

The owners are wonderful, always polite and smiling, and the welcome was warm and accommodating. The rate was excellent compared with the other Hotel establishments on Lundy's Lane. I'd give my room 4 out of 5 for cleanliness because a bathroom light bulb was missing. I told management, and they replaced it, so after that I'd rate the establishment 6 out of 5. I recommend staying here if you're visiting Niagara Falls.
