Fernie Stanford Resort

The mountain and riverside views outside were lovely for a walk or some relaxing time, and it was great value overall. Breakfast is included, and it was good and decent. The pool was warm and enjoyable for the kids, with a big slide everyone can use. Rooms and facilities were great. The gym could use more maintenance, but I found it tolerable.

The mountain view is beautiful, and the pool’s big waterslide was genuinely fun. There’s also a sauna, which was nice. But the single small hot tub for the whole hotel fills up fast, and it needs more room or additional tubs. The hotel feels dated and would benefit from renovation. Rooms are fairly spacious, though cleanliness could be better and they need updating. Breakfast didn’t have much variety, but there was something to eat. It’s good enough for one night and you can still enjoy yourself, but I’d look at other places for a longer stay.

The staff made this the best part of our stay, everyone was friendly, great, and always ready to help. We had a great family trip to Fernie last week, and staying at the Stanford was a good choice. Our loft room gave the kids their own space, and the waterslide was awesome. Breakfast was good, though they could switch up the sausage patty every other day or so. The fitness room needs a lot of care and more equipment: just three sets of 8 lb dumbbells or lighter, a broken treadmill, a partly working sit bike, and a random sit-up bench instead of a regular flat or adjustable one. We’ll definitely stay again.

We had a very nice stay in a two-story loft room with a jacuzzi tub, and enjoyed the river view from the room. The in-room tub and communal sauna both got use, and breakfast had more variety than we expected. There are lots of amenities for the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful, doing their best to maintain such a large resort without raising prices. I’d stay again and recommend it to others.
