Griz Inn by StayIn

We booked through Airbnb, so it’s hard for me to review the building itself. The inn was clean, close to town, had great views, and plenty of parking. The parking area could be paved, though, to keep shoes and the car floor from getting muddy. A good place for a family trip.

One of Fernie’s few true ski-in, ski-out spots. Being able to come back for lunch instead of eating at the day lodge was so nice. G7 now has a full-size fridge and a king-size Murphy bed, and both are game changers!

Our Airbnb stay was in unit 106. The apartment had been nicely renovated, but I can’t say the same for the rest of the building. The walls are thin, so we heard people walking around upstairs, and it was noisy from the communal outdoor hot tub and spa just below us. Elk chair and Moose T-bar are the ski-out options. To ski in, you have to work your way over to the main village, or walk uphill to start the day there, which isn’t ideal with small kids. There are definitely better options around. This doesn’t seem to be an inn. It looks like privately owned and managed apartments. Thanks to Grizz Inn for responding to my review. There are certainly some business and brand continuity issues: this is the only business listing that comes up for the location, with no strata or condo listing. Common areas are a big part of the experience, and all unit owners contribute to strata management, which ultimately works for them. I still feel this review is relevant to people currently considering the Grizz Inn. A couple of things you may want to follow up on: we saw people coming and going from the building with towels to use the pool and spa, and cars parked under the drop-off area overnight.

We booked through Airbnb, so there were no services. Everything was very clean, and the hot tub was warm. I wish the fencing were lower on one side of the tub, since the view there is fantastic. The lockers fit four snowboarders with room to spare. It’s a perfect distance from Elk chair, which has mostly green runs and a couple of blue ones, and from the T-bar for the bunny area.
