Fort Motel

I was so happy with the bed and sleep that I added a third night. My small room had a kitchenette, a comfy bed, and a great shower, with strong water pressure, a big fridge, and good A/C. The renovated room also had laminate flooring, which stayed clean despite me carrying a lot of things in and out. Fort Motel is a gem in Fort Macleod. They have larger weekly and monthly units too, if you’re staying around town longer. I’d suggest checking it out when you’re in southern Alberta.

The staff at the Fort Motel were incredibly hospitable. After we arrived following a snowstorm, our car wouldn’t start the next day in the cold, and they went out of their way to help us get it going. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. I’d recommend staying here for both the rooms and the lovely staff.

The room was spacious and had more than I expected for the price: a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, water heater, plus china and silverware. The sheets and other items looked a little old, but they were neat and well kept. The bathroom had fresh linens and complimentary soap and shampoo.

The cabins are small, so they aren’t wheelchair friendly, but you can park right at the door. Inside, the room was ultra clean, quiet, and friendly, with a homey feel and everything needed for a comfortable night. The little kitchen had a microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, pod coffee maker, hotplate grill, sink, and dishes and cutlery for two. This single-story cabin-style motel has been renovated inside, though it’s not a five-star place. For the value, it’s hard to beat.
