Fort Motel

My wife and I spent a couple of nights here. The owner was extremely kind and hospitable, and made sure we had the best experience possible. I couldn’t have asked for anything more during our stay.

The area is beautiful, the rooms are coming along, and the owner seems like a sweet, generous man who’s trying hard to renovate the motel. But I didn’t feel safe there. The doors and locks didn’t work properly, and we were robbed every time we left our room. I kept asking him to check the cameras. He said he would, but never did. I also offered to clean rooms for free because I wanted to help, and realized he doesn’t clean them between guests, just changes the bedding. The showers were full of mold. A neighbor tormented me until I was depressed and afraid to leave my home. I was evicted and got none of my money back, even though I’d paid for a full month and had about 13 days left. I’d done nothing wrong, just cried myself to sleep because I was so scared of where I was. Before he said we were evicted, I’d already told him we were leaving that weekend because he hadn’t kept me safe. I believe that’s part of a hotel or motel’s job, and he failed. I wish he’d listened to the people being harmed instead of assuming everyone was lying without looking into it. He’s trying hard to do it all on his own, and could make this place something wonderful if he took the victims seriously.

There wasn’t breakfast, a weight room, a business center, or even phones in the rooms. Renovations are coming along nicely, though, and I think Lacombe will look much better. My partner and I stayed two nights, and I couldn’t sleep the first night because a woman in the next room yelled all night. She seemed to think I was someone else. The manager was incredibly sweet and gave my fiance and me advice. He said her yelling wasn’t unusual, and suggested we could turn on the TV or go introduce ourselves next door. Calling the police was the only other option, but we didn’t want the whole place turned upside down because of one person.

There are no window locks or air conditioning, and mold is everywhere. My husband got an infection that is now threatening his life. Please be careful. The owner, Sammy, will let anyone stay, but he won’t protect you if someone breaks in or steals from you. About the neighbor who was yelling, a responsible owner would have knocked on her door and told her she’d walked in on her husband sleeping with the escort. I’m sure that would have helped. He accepts escorts for payment, so he should have told her that the escort who was there before her was sleeping with her husband. Any woman might have the same feelings and reaction. Sorry.
