Mavis’ gourmet breakfasts were complimentary and so good they deserved a 3-star Michelin rating. The River Gate Inn also deserves a 5-star rating here. Its beautiful gardens, antique style furnishings, central location, and welcoming, refined atmosphere made my trip unforgettable. I loved Winnipeg too, but the inn was without a doubt the best part of my visit. I can’t recommend it too highly.

Historic, clean, and run by lovely owners. Easily the best bed and breakfast in all of Manitoba. If you’re coming to Winnipeg, there’s no better place to stay.

They were friendly on the phone, but as of May 27, 2017, they were retiring.
