Howard Johnson Express Inn - Winnipeg West

We got very good value for our two nights here and enjoyed the stay a lot. The cozy beds and interesting esthetics made the room nice, and each guest gets a free warm breakfast with several options to choose from. At check-in, the front desk checked in with us soon after we reached the room to see if we needed anything. Friendly service. Thank you!

I was very disappointed by the lack of professionalism at Howard Johnson. A front desk employee named Simran spoke negatively about management in front of others, making the atmosphere uncomfortable. I also saw inappropriate behavior toward some GardaWorld security guards working at the property, including pictures being taken of them from CCTV footage. This reflects badly on the hotel and hurts its reputation. Management should address the situation seriously and improve professionalism and respect toward both staff and guests.

Breakfast was hot and delicious, and the room was comfortable. Brandon and the staff welcomed us with smiles and top notch service again. The bar service was quick, and the Nachos were fantastic. We’ll be back!

My room was dated, but clean, and I had no problems with it. The night noise, though, was really disruptive. I’d read other guests’ complaints and can confirm them. There’s a beer vendor and sports bar in the same building, which may be behind both the overnight noise and the parking trouble. Parking can be difficult depending on the time of day, and seeing security seated in the lobby should probably have been a clue.
