Econo Lodge Fox Creek

We had six employees staying here for 20-day shifts, at about $2,500 per person for two weeks. They’ve now lost the business from all six of us. In an oil town, charging $117 a night for a tiny room with sagging beds, tiny towels, and nowhere to put your things is unacceptable. Go anywhere else in Fox. The front desk girl with metal in her face told management I checked in at 6 AM, while the paperwork said 10:30 PM. I didn’t check in at either time that day. They still charged me for an extra day.

The rooms are nice, but the continental breakfast has really gone downhill. It’s just cereal and toast now, with no muffins, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, or even orange juice.

The only snag was that my room was cold when I got in and took about 20 minutes to warm up. It’s a small thing, and the rest more than made up for it. I’m looking forward to breakfast in the charming dining area. The room was spacious, spotless, and smelled fresh, and the bed was just right, neither too hard nor too soft. The woman at the desk gave us the fastest check-in I’ve ever had, even though we arrived at midnight, and she was incredibly friendly. From outside, you wouldn’t guess how lovely it is inside. I was pleasantly surprised, and it felt worth every penny.

The standard room had a renovated bathroom and was spotless, cleaner than some fancier hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff were helpful and friendly. I’d definitely come back.
