Les Suites Victoria, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The room itself was pretty good, and the beds were comfortable. The service, though, was the worst I've ever experienced. For two of my four nights, I had no usable toilet after it broke, and nobody was available to repair it. They handed me a plunger even though that wasn't the problem. It didn't work, so I repeatedly asked someone to come look. The air conditioning wasn't working either. I kept being told no one was there to fix it, and they sent up a huge pedestal fan that had to run all night. After I left, I contacted the hotel, but they wouldn't call me back to discuss it. I'll never stay there again.

Parking was scarce, which was the one drawback. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we were lucky that it was ready early. The receptionist let us check in almost two hours before the usual time, more than we'd expected.

You get a roomy apartment-style place for the price, with a living room and full-sized kitchen. The service was good too.

The neighborhood was quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and the next morning. Our king suite was exceptionally clean and had the cookware and other things needed for a longer visit. Breakfast was better than expected. Parking costs extra, as noted on the website. It's in a small, secure garage next door, attached to the hotel and accessible by key. A good stay overall.
