A run-down, seedy no-tell motel like this is hard to find these days. What a treat. Keep it up!

The location is hard to beat, right across from a great beach, with sports and trails right outside. There's also a pizza place next door and a great Quickie store nearby. The price was reasonable, and the front desk staff were the best part, accommodating and fantastic: prompt, funny, and courteous. The place could really use an update and wasn't the cleanest. You can tell they try to look after it, but the clientele don't seem to. The beds were stiff but not uncomfortable, and the cable selection was good on a pretty small TV.

On a later visit, I stayed for three weeks. Staff were friendly, though there was a lot of police activity. One day I came home during an incident with guns drawn, but I wasn't harmed. I guess that's part of the territory. I had no complaints about the hotel or staff. I stayed here for almost a month in an earlier visit, and once checked in at 6:00 a.m. He charged me full price through 11:00 and was very insistent that I leave right at 11:00. I had to pay a $200 deposit, which was returned in full without trouble. I checked in without ID and wasn't hassled during my 2 day stay. My only complaint was that he wouldn't give my wife my phone number, saying it was to protect my privacy.

We found a dead adult bed bug as soon as I lifted the pillow, and that was enough for my friends and me to leave at 2 in the morning. Before that, we'd noticed black mold on the ceiling and bathroom tiles, suspicious marks all over the walls, and a used toilet paper roll in the bathroom. It looked like nobody had tried to maintain the room. When we first arrived, there was also a woman stumbling around the parking lot who seemed clearly under the influence. We're never coming back. Stay away from room 29.

The door locks weren't secure, and with some very sketchy people in the parking lot, I didn't feel safe at all. We also found bed bugs. When we tried to tell the woman at the desk, she wouldn't listen or acknowledge us. The place was absolutely disgusting. I'd rather sleep on the street. It wasn't worth the $100, plus they wanted another $100 as a damage deposit. The place is already so trashed, how would they even notice?
