Pinewood Inn

We ended up here after our last-minute summer search for a campsite went nowhere because we hadn't booked ahead. Honestly, luck was on our side. The place is gorgeous, modern, and very clean, with really cute decor. Our room had bug spray and sunscreen, and the kitchenette was practically a full kitchen, stocked with more utensils than I have at home. For the privacy and setup, a local hotel room could easily cost twice as much. The owner was so sweet, too. If I'm looking for a place in Golden again, I'd absolutely stay here.

I was a little worried at first that the hotel was too far from everything, but it turned out to be easy to reach nearly all the tourist spots by metro or bus. I bought a two-day pass for 12 euros and hopped on and off where I wanted. I also liked getting a glimpse of everyday life in a regular neighborhood, and there were good shops nearby with better prices than downtown. The hotel itself is beautiful and high quality, as is the surrounding area. The front desk service was exceptional: everyone was amazing, helped with maps and neighborhood tips, and booked my airport shuttle for an extra cost. Breakfast was free and excellent. My room was great, the bed comfortable, and I loved the full-body-spray shower. WiFi mattered a lot to me and worked very well. I'd definitely stay again.

Stephanie was really helpful while we were there, and the rooms had the essentials, including a few small toiletries. They were clean, and the bed was comfortable. The showers are the one thing I'd suggest improving. We had a lovely stay.

The people running the place were the highlight. They replied quickly when I asked if a friend joining us to carpool could park in our spot. After we got back late and worn out from assiniboine the night before checkout, they kindly gave us an extra hour, which helped a lot. I'd likely come back, though I'd avoid working remotely here. The internet was a bit unreliable and slow for more than one HD stream at a time. It was fine for searching things and planning activities. For the price, the place felt like a breath of fresh air compared with other similarly priced spots with terrible reviews. It was clean enough to satisfy my neat-freak side, and the furnishings were all intact and useful, even if they weren't five-star quality, which you're not paying for. We had what we needed to cook instead of eating out all week. The bathroom was clean, with decent pressure and hot and cold water. The bedroom was comfortable, and the gear room behind it was handy for storing our stuff.
