Evangeline Inn

The inn rooms have a tasteful layout and decor, and ours was comfortable, with cozy beds and sheets. The motel rooms have a distinct look, and the surrounding grounds are pretty. The pool area could use an update, though, and the other amenities were a bit underwhelming. We gave up waiting for the sauna to heat, then found murky water and grime on the hot tub sides. The cute lights there weren't working either. The onsite restaurant doesn't open until 11:30 am and is closed several days a week. We had a nice time, but I think the experience could have been better.

The room was huge, clean, and nicely decorated, and we slept incredibly well in the very comfortable beds. We loved being able to use the hot tub at any hour, and the pool was a good size and temperature. The restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday during our stay, which was a letdown, but the room and hot tub made up for it. Wolfville is less than 10 minutes away. It was a fantastic stay and we plan to return. The place was much better than I expected from its 3-star Google rating, and worth the price. It could work really well for families too, with lots for kids to enjoy in the pool and plenty of outdoor space. We didn't take a family vacation this time.

We'd stayed here before and enjoyed it, so we came back for a girls' night. As soon as we entered the room, there was a very strong smell, probably coming from the bathroom drain. The manager was pleasant and acknowledged the problem, but offered us a single room, which defeated the purpose of the night. She said she'd called a plumber for the next day, which didn't help us during our stay, and we weren't offered compensation. At over $300 a night, leaving with a room that smelled like a sewer was disappointing. UPDATE: I contacted the owner, who made things right by refunding the night. I really appreciated his care and quick follow-up.

The inn's history is super cool, and we loved the lookout point and the Whomping Willow. The rooms were comfortable with nice, big beds. Thanks for a really nice overnight stay. We also got in a late-evening session in the hot tub and sauna.
