We had our boat with us and could get to Sparrow lake in about 30 minutes, following the 10km/h limit on the Trent. The other way, Lake Coochaching was also around a 30-minute ride, with one lock along the route. Our rental was right on the water, but swimming there wasn’t really possible. The water was extremely weedy and pretty gross. We tried a couple of lures and caught just one tiny pike. There’s a small beach at one spot if you’re brave enough to swim. The mobile homes are close together, with almost no privacy, and the AC barely did anything during the hot weather. There is a large double pool for little kids as well as older kids and adults to cool off in. The park is basically a mobile home camping area, with units to rent or buy and rent out. It’s a nice little place in the Muskoka area, right on the Trent Seven waterway. Staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make what we needed easy to access. There’s basketball, tennis and daily activities throughout the month. All in all, it was okay, and the staff were great, but not being able to swim where we stayed was a bit of a kick in the pants.

We arrived late for an overnight stay during our boat trip and didn’t have a vehicle. Dave drove us and our belongings around and showed us the whole resort. We also had a small boat problem, and Dave gave us repair advice and helped find a local parts store. Great job!

We’re excited to begin our ninth season this May, and to see what Alison, our fantastic events coordinator, has planned for 2025. She does a remarkable job putting on fun events for the kids, families and adults in the park. The adults’ live music nights are our personal favorite, and we’re especially grateful for the work she’s done since joining two summers ago. This February’s super snow weekend brought back so many wonderful memories of Shamrock, and we’re looking forward to more.

We own a place here and love it. There’s a real sense of community, and the park is exceptionally well managed. Staff are friendly and quick to respond. The number and variety of events are amazing, and Ali, the events coordinator, is incredible. We especially enjoy the adult-focused activities, like live bands and wine and cheese receptions.

We’ve spent the last eight summers at Shamrock Bay Resort, and the past two have been the best by far. General manager Ted has made much-needed improvements, been helpful and approachable, and gone out of his way to resolve residents’ concerns. Doug and Dennis on the maintenance crew keep the resort in good repair and well looked after. Alison, the activity director, has done an excellent job planning things for all age groups. Her enthusiasm and planning have been the best we’ve seen since joining the community. Ted and Sandra
