Harrison Spa Motel

I’ve stayed here several times and keep coming back for the cozy feel and good experience. The prices are fantastic, the service is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are consistently clean and stocked with things you might have left behind. The restaurant has the best burger and fish and chips in all of Harrison. A bonus for me is the Filipino workers, who make me feel at home.

The winter rates are very reasonable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and despite some negative reviews we’d read, we had a wonderful stay. Just keep in mind that rooms vary: some are older, while others have been gradually renovated, so guests may have different experiences. If you’re visiting Harrison Village in winter, check what’s open first. Some lakeside walking areas and the outdoor public pool may be closed. We’d definitely consider coming back.

I booked through Expedia for early June, choosing pay on arrival and making a one-time, non-refundable payment to verify my card. They charged it twice before we got there. I’d added an adult to the booking so they could check in without me, a small detail compared with everything else, but still frustrating. I called more than 30 times over three days and got no response. About four hours before check-in, they tried to charge me again for more than one night’s stay. When the payment didn’t go through, they canceled the booking without contacting me or replying to my attempts. Expedia says they’re basically free to charge my card if they want, so I’ll be canceling it. One night was $154 plus tax when we booked, then the same room dropped to $106 plus tax. They wouldn’t adjust the price, even though the lower rate was also on Expedia, not another platform.

A lovely little find. The beds were comfortable, the room stayed really warm in the middle of winter, and the two restaurants next door had everything we needed. Affordable, with friendly customer service. We’ll be back.
