Hot Spring Villa Hotel

The location and view were enjoyable, but there were silverfish in the bathroom and along the baseboards. Be ready to climb the stairs.

We went for dinner on a Wednesday and the empty dining room made me unsure at first. The food arrived quickly, hot, and very well prepared. We only ordered simple dishes, but everything was spot on. The tequila sunrises were delicious, too. We’ll eat here again next time we’re back in this little town.

The lake view from the balcony was beautiful, and our room was warm and well kept. The king bed was extremely comfortable. Even though it was busy, service was really fast, and the staff were welcoming and friendly to my girlfriend and me. High five to the team. I’ll definitely stay here again.

The town and location were great, but we won’t return to this hotel. The staff were nice and tried to help, though they seemed disorganized. Our room looked old but otherwise okay, which was what I expected. The bathroom was gross: dead bugs on the walls, little bugs flying around the sink, stains on the walls, something splashed on the toilet, a long black hair on the floor, and a tub in poor shape. Since it was nighttime, my wife and I didn’t want to bother the front desk and went to bed. The sheets kept slipping off the mattress, and the blanket was awkwardly sandwiched between two sheets. In the morning, I told the front desk about the bathroom and they said they’d send cleaners. When we came back that afternoon, nothing had changed. My wife tried to use her hair dryer in the bathroom, but the outlet didn’t work. She used it in the living room with my laptop as a mirror, and we tripped a breaker, cutting power to the whole suite. We also accidentally left an expensive shirt on the bed at checkout. When I called, the hotel said it wasn’t in the room and they’d contact us if it turned up. We never heard back.
