Rundle Chalets

I'm a solo woman traveler from Ontario and come to the Rockies often. I usually try to keep these mountain getaways on a budget, and found Rundle chalets in an Expedia search. I was very happy with the cabin: basic, nothing fancy, but it had what I needed. The bed was clean and comfy, the fireplace was lovely both nights, and I felt safe. A few lamps would make it perfect.

The company was willing to shift our dates when our out-of-town guests fell ill, which I really appreciated. We loved how warm and inviting the cabin felt. Sadly, ours didn't have the wood stove mentioned in other reviews. The bathroom was the main issue, so cramped it made an airplane bathroom seem spacious. If you're over six feet, using the toilet will be difficult. I don't know whether the other cabins have better facilities. It's pet friendly, with incredible views on walks and easy access to Canmore and Banff. At off-season prices it was reasonable and a lovely getaway, though I don't think it would feel like as good a value at peak rates.

We stayed two nights at Marvel Lake Chalet and loved the privacy and the beautiful bonfire area, where we spent time with family and friends. The Rocky Mountain views were breathtaking, and the wood fireplace made the evenings feel magical. It's a rustic, down-to-earth place with old-fashioned charm, just right for people who like nature and peace. Pets are welcome too, which was a bonus. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

I brought my own bedding, which I prefer, and the kitchen was well stocked. The heat worked great, it was clean, and we had an outdoor fire every night. The cabins are dated, but I found mine quaint and thoroughly enjoyed my three-night stay. Staff were warm and welcoming. If you're after luxury, this isn't it, but I absolutely loved it and would stay again in an instant.
