Leaving at 5am was frightening. My son and I were completely alone in the dark, and that made the lack of staff on site feel especially unsafe. Guests should have someone available until everyone has checked in, particularly when the cottages get so dark after dusk. Our hockey group had booked a lot of cottages. After hours, one mom was given a key to a room that already had other people in it, and there was nobody around to call for help. She'd paid in full two months earlier, but instead of being compensated for the whole night she lost, she was offered just $100 and left stranded. Another mom had checked in during regular hours and got the maintenance worker's number after an issue with her smoke alarm. That was the only way the first mom eventually found an unoccupied room. What a disaster.

The beach is so cute, and the place feels romantic. Great for kids and pets too. There's a pool for swimming, a park where kids can play, a splash pad, and plenty more. Hope this helps.

We loved our five days here, and the staff were lovely. The pool was really warm, and there were lots of activities, including events on certain days. The campsites are packed a bit close together and don't have much shade, though.

We came by twice on July 25, once to look at the properties and later for dinner with the family. It was peak summer, but the ice cream stand was boarded up and seemed permanently closed, while the hot tub pool was green and shut. Dinner service was questionable. Drinks took 35 minutes and we had to ask about them, then food for four adults and two kids took well over an hour. There were only a few other tables occupied. The food was mediocre at best, expensive, and a few of us got sick later. The fried food truck would be a generous comparison. It feels like a great opportunity is being wasted, and I have to guess the place is struggling financially to be declining this way. It's supposed to be one of the biggest places on the lake.

The views and property were lovely, and the chef was excellent. The planning, though, was very poor. I had my wedding here, and if you need the details settled well ahead of time, this isn't the venue for you. If you're okay with things still being up in the air until just days before, it's a scenic spot I'd recommend.
