Okanagan Lakefront Resort

We had a great stay at this updated lakefront motel. The free parking was handy, and the location on Okanagan Lake puts lots of restaurants, bars, coffee, ice cream, liquor, fast food, and shops within a 7-10 minute walk. Some are only two doors away. The room felt fresh, clean, updated, and comfortable, with plenty of space, a table and chairs, TV, coffee table, coffee maker, kettle, four cups and glasses each, tea, coffee, sweetener, and a mini fridge/freezer. There’s no cream. Free bags of ice are available too. The outdoor areas, community BBQs, and propane firepits added to the stay. Concierge Zeus gave great service. A couple of small drawbacks: there are no elevators, just outdoor stairs, the toilet paper is scratchy one-ply, the rooms have very little light, and there are no plates or cutlery for BBQ food. Bathroom windows have no screens, so bugs got in. Still, I’d absolutely recommend it for a trip to Penticton.

The location is excellent, and the rooms are clean and updated. They’re also quite dark, with just two bedside lamps, so the coffee area doesn’t get much light. We could hear every conversation next door through a big gap under the adjoining bedroom door, and it was noisy. Apart from that, the room was tidy and clean. The location helps make up for the less luxurious facilities.

We booked the deluxe one-bedroom with a sofa bed, and it was extremely comfortable. It’s clearly been a motel before, but the updates are decent and the place is really clean. We booked at the last minute, and the views on arrival were a nice surprise. There are three outdoor sitting areas with fire tables, BBQs in the middle area, and an uncovered spot at the end for sun. They’re all good places to hang out if you’re not at the beach, which is right across the street and especially convenient with kids. Ours loved the inflatable structure on the lake and getting ice cream next to Salty's. Can’t wait to come back. This will be our regular spot.

Everything was really clean, and we loved the BBQ area. The staff were friendly and cheerful. It’s right by the lake and in the city center. Can’t wait to come back.
