Auberge Le Tricorne

We went for my mom's birthday because I wanted a proper meal with English tea, including both savory and sweet food, not just cookies. This place on the Eastern Township English Tea Trail had exactly that, and we weren't disappointed. Everything was homemade, fresh, and delicious, with great service and a cozy tea room/reception room. The inn sits at the end of a long country road, so it's private and free of car noise. The price felt reasonable for the quality and range of choices. I'd happily recommend it and hope to return for a special event, maybe Christmas or Mother's Day.

Our room was small, just as described, and did what we needed. We enjoyed the included breakfast the next morning, which was quite good and better than expected. On arrival, the owner greeted us warmly and showed us the modern hot tub/spa, where we relaxed for about an hour. The charming property is roughly 5 minutes outside North Hatley, with a few good places to eat nearby. We'll add Le Tricorne to our yearly vacation plans and look forward to coming back.

I was in Sherbrooke for work and, with the big hotels booked, found this place on Booking. It's about 15 minutes out of town, but the trip was worthwhile. The hosts were very welcoming, and breakfast was delicious. My room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, just right for sleeping. A nice change from the usual chain hotel.

After a broken spoke and a fall on the gravel, we had to leave our bikes in Magog and take a taxi. The Auberge and our kind host were just the respite we needed, with a warm welcome and comfortable, luxurious accommodations. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful, made and served with such care by the morning chef. She was kind and genuinely asked how I was after the fall, which touched me more than she probably knew. It brought back a memory of my mother brushing me off after my scrapes when I was learning to ride, over 60 years ago. Then our host went out of his way to drive us back to our bikes. They were as good as new, our scrapes were bandaged, and we watched him leave, grateful beyond words. Thank you both for your kindness and for redefining what Auberge hospitality can mean.
