The room was quaint and just right for a night, and everything was very clean. The owner was really nice, too. Hedley may look like a town that barely exists, but give it a chance and you’ll meet some great, friendly people. I’m a city guy, and I wanted somewhere weird and quiet, away from all the phones and laptops that eat up our attention. When someone asked why I was staying there, that was exactly my answer. The Hedley Inn suited me: I could get lost and unplug while still feeling welcome in a small town.

A quiet, pleasant place to get away. There’s a little kitchenette shared by all the guests, with a hotplate, microwave, and small fridge. One of the regular rooms has its own shower, and there’s also a very nice communal one. I’d definitely consider staying here again.

I usually don’t like motels, but I loved the Hedley Inn. The staff were so kind and helpful that they went out of their way to return things I’d left behind when I rushed off. It’s an old, charming building with shared spaces and comfortable, homey furniture, nothing fancy. And it’s inexpensive.

This was our first hostel, and the owner made us feel welcome, being friendly and more than accommodating. The rooms were clean, tidy, and nice, and the A.C. was wonderful during those hot days. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance.

We had a pretty uncomfortable stay at the inn, even though Hedley itself is a great town to visit. The manager kept coming into the public space we’d arranged to use and lingering there, once for almost half an hour without saying anything. As he was halfway down the stairs, he shouted that the inn had never smelled better. He also came upstairs and yelled at us for using the space, waking the baby with us. When my friend answered calmly, he threatened to throw all of us out. That felt unwarranted and put us in a difficult spot, since it was nighttime on a weekend and we were a group in a small town where we likely couldn’t find anywhere else to stay. He made inappropriate comments to my four-year-old daughter and other family members, so I wouldn’t recommend bringing a young girl or staying there alone. Before we left, I tried to talk to him about his behavior, but he cut me off, yelled, and walked away. I tried contacting the owner, though I believe the manager wasn’t passing on the messages.
