Quality Inn Sarnia

The breakfast was a letdown too. They had run out of cutlery, bowls, and maple syrup, with no fruit or yogurt available. Staff seemed uninterested and unwilling to help with the problems we brought up. There was no heat in our room in November, so the night was really uncomfortable. The floors were dirty, and someone had left a used tampon in the garbage when we arrived. This was one of my worst hotel stays. I wouldn't recommend it until they make significant improvements.

For the price, this was good value, especially with the hot breakfast included. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel could use a thorough clean in places, but it didn't stop us from getting a great night's sleep in a comfortable bed. We just needed somewhere for one night, and it worked out well.

The restaurant is only open for dinner now, and the continental breakfast is average. When we're eating out, we expect the food to be better than at home. They should bring back the food quality they used to have. We stayed in 2018 and gave it 10 stars then. It's the same building and not much has changed, but it needs upgrades. The wallpaper looks tired, the hallway carpets are stained, and the whole vibe feels different.

The restaurant also doesn't cater to people with celiac disease. I don't recommend this hotel, since they don't seem to look after their guests. I booked a room for a family member, who found that the toilet didn't work. The front desk didn't seem willing to do anything. They left a message for the manager, who wasn't available and wouldn't be in until Monday. This was Friday. A room with a non-functioning toilet is totally unacceptable.
