Baymont by Wyndham Hinton

Room 209, with two queen beds, was cozy and spacious, and among the best value, clean, fresh places we’ve stayed. The off-season rate made it an especially good deal. The kitchenette was missing cutlery, but that was hardly a big deal. Check-in and checkout were easy too. We’d happily stay again and again. Thanks, R and B.

Asma was friendly and soft spoken, and made us a delicious breakfast with scrambled eggs, beans, muffins, donuts, and yogurt. The kids were very happy. We stayed one night on the way from Calgary to Jasper, and the clean, comfortable room and bedding made it a great stop. There was soap and hot and cold water in the washroom. We’d gladly stay here again on future trips.

The woman at the front desk was personable and helpful, and the spacious room had two areas that gave us a bit more privacy. It was a pleasant surprise. We’ll stay here again when we’re in Hinton.

For a one-night stop before heading to Jasper and Banff, this was a good, no-fuss option. It’s near fast food places and Walmart, and the complimentary breakfast had the usual eggs, sausage, beans, toast, muffins, cereal, coffee, tea, and juice. The morning receptionist was wonderful, greeting us at breakfast and thanking us when we checked out. The evening male staff member called to ask when we’d arrive, around 9 pm, but didn’t mention breakfast, so we had to look it up. He gave us the impression he wanted to get home early. We had two queen beds on the first floor. There were two washrooms, one with just the shower and the other with the sink and toilet. Above the kitchenette was an odd decoration covering four separate windows, made of four wooden pieces with knobs. The floor was a little sandy, so I wore slippers, and a draft at the main door made that area chilly.
