Travelodge by Wyndham Hope

The room was in terrible shape, with a broken mattress, air conditioning that didn’t work, and filthy, yellowed sheets. The whole place seemed to be falling apart, and it’s disgraceful to charge guests to stay there. The receptionist’s attitude was even worse. She was rude and disrespectful, with no professionalism or kindness, and treated us like a burden instead of paying customers. That’s unacceptable in hospitality, and management should be ashamed for allowing it. I’ve never been so disappointed or disgusted by a hotel. This place doesn’t deserve a star, and I hope people think twice before going.

The pictures on the website must be 20 years old because they don’t show the hotel’s current condition. It didn’t feel like Wyndham quality. The hot tub is old, with tiles falling off, and the cigarette smell was disgusting for a non smoking hotel. Breakfast starts at 9:30 am. We were out exploring the area before then, so I can’t speak to its quality. Run away, don’t book here.

It was horribly overpriced and a terrible place to stay. I’ve never posted a review before, but this was bad enough that I felt I had to. If I could go back in time, I’d pass on it.

I had a confirmed booking at Travelodge by Wyndham Hope, but ended up not staying because of inflexible policies and poor communication. I missed the “No Late Check-In” notice. When I called ahead to ask if a late arrival could be accommodated, the staff, who I believe were the owners, were dismissive. Their first response was “No.” When I said I’d cancel and book somewhere else, they quickly replied, “Yes, you will.” They didn’t try to find a solution. When I returned to Hotels.com, I found out the property required proof of COVID‑19 vaccination at check-in. I hadn’t expected that or been made aware of it by the hotel. Looking through other reviews, I then saw reports of unusual policies and service problems, including strict COVID protocols, reception hours limited to 9:30 AM–9 PM, and staff described as rude or smelling of smoke. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t have to check in. Avoid this hotel. Unless you arrive early, are fully vaccinated, and don’t mind unaccommodating staff, choose somewhere else with clearer policies and friendlier service. I had to give it 1 star to post this review.
