Hopewell Rocks Motel & Country Inn

We booked back in March for one night in August and ended up in room 11. The hotel's photos leave out the older sections, so don't rely on them to show what you'll get. The bathtub drain was clogged, and the shower temperature knob barely worked, making it almost impossible to set the water safely. The bathroom outlet wasn't a GFI type, as shown in the photos, which made using a hair dryer feel dangerous. New Brunswick rules require GFI outlets in bathrooms to prevent electrocution. We also had a bad experience with the restaurant. A server came over when we sat down for dinner, and we said we'd like a drink. After at least half an hour with no drink and no one taking our order, we left. The self-serve lunch was just sliced bread and hard-boiled eggs, with no tongs for the bread, so people reached into the bag with their hands. That seemed very unhygienic. The pool water was green, so we didn't swim. I've traveled a lot for work and holidays in the US, Canada, Europe, and China, and this room is among the three worst I've stayed in. The restaurant was just as bad.

We really liked our spacious family suite, especially the lovely views and the chairs on the deck where we could sit and relax. This seems like a great place to stay for Howell Rocks, since you can practically see the park entrance from the property.

For one night near Hopewell Rocks, this place worked really well. It's small and dated, though clean, with friendly staff and a good location. Go in expecting a classic motel and you'll be fine.

The owners were lovely and made sure our rooms were beside those of our family members. We stayed for two nights and were glad to find a place that worked so well for our big family. The room was clean and spacious, with two queen beds and a futon. It was a charming, rustic motel just two minutes from Hopewell Rocks. We had dinner at the restaurant next door, ordering dumplings, sweet potato fries, and salad. The included continental breakfast had cereal, toast, juice, hard-boiled eggs, and muffins. Some things were dated, but overall it suited us really well.
