Bearspaw Inn

We stayed for a couple of weeks while I was working, sharing a two-bedroom, one-bathroom suite with a common area. After a month of hotel rooms, the clean, quiet place felt homely. The hostess was easy to reach when we needed something, but never hovered or came in unless we invited her. The beds were changed regularly, and the place was kept clean. There was a small continental breakfast each morning, and having a BBQ under the deck was a nice extra. We’d definitely stay again.

Vicki and Mike were easy to talk to and helpful. When we asked, they even brought us an iron and ironing board. The suite was extremely clean and comfortable, and the price seemed very reasonable. We rented it Aug3-Aug6 and would choose it again on another trip to Houston, though we didn’t get any of the advertised continental breakfasts. There was a problem with how the booking was handled. The owner changed our two-bedroom suite two days before we arrived and charged us 500 for the three nights. I don’t understand that, since I was told more than once on the phone that mentioning "I love Houston" when booking would make the third night half price, as the website said. We paid cash as requested. I’d still stay again, but wouldn’t pay cash because the owner didn’t follow through on what she’d told me.

After 14hr days out in the field fighting the local wildfires, the quiet at the Bearspaw was a real treat. I spent a week there and found it clean and comfortable. Vicky is a superb hostess, and I’d have no hesitation about staying again.

A classy little gem tucked away. The hosts are easygoing and welcoming, so booking here feels like a safe bet.
