Au Vieux Foyer

The house worked well as a base for day trips, with Old Quebec City about 25 minutes away. Since it's on an island, you'll need a rental car if you're flying into Quebec. We liked being able to come back for a quick rest before heading out to dinner. That view from the upstairs porch over the river was lovely, and sitting in the backyard chairs by the fire pit was really relaxing, even though we didn't have a fire. The upstairs bedroom also has a huge bathroom with a claw foot tub and a separate shower. The house has a full kitchen with both gas and electric stoves. We had a wonderful nine days. Daniel welcomed us, showed us around the house, and suggested places to visit on the island and in the city. He was accommodating and available when we needed him, checking in now and then to see if we had questions or needed anything.

We slept like babies, and the peaceful countryside setting on the beautiful island came with fresh air, a glorious view, and natural organic food. The bed was comfy, and we had a private shower or bathtub and our own washroom, everything we needed despite the age of the house. Inside, the antique place looks like a museum. Breakfast was amazing, and the conversation was interesting.

We stayed in the kiosque cabin, a quaint, cozy spot that was clean and comfortable. The location was really beautiful, and the next day we explored the island and loved it. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

The 2 bedroom cottage was awesome. Highly recommend it.
