Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Kamloops by IHG

After a long travel day, Jimmy helped sort out our shuttle problem and get us to the hotel. Call ahead to book the shuttle. The room and amenities were clean and comfortable. Thanks, Jimmy.

The staff were professional, and the room and common areas were very clean. Breakfast was excellent, though my $25 voucher as an IHG Diamond member didn’t cover the whole cost. It’s not about the extra $4 I had to pay, but the principle. Even so, I’d strongly recommend the hotel.

The fan keeps cycling on and off, and there’s no way to stop it. The room got too hot, then too cold, and the fan alone was loud enough to make sleeping difficult. Aside from that, things were pretty good.

The hotel has its good and bad points, but the suites didn’t work for our family, so we won’t stay here again. We prefer the Holiday Inn Express in Kamloops. It’s newly renovated, clean, has friendly staff, a pool and hot tub, and a restaurant. But there was mold on our bathtub tiles, and it’s in a residential area. The suites aren’t well equipped: there’s only one bedroom window, and with the air conditioner in the bedroom and its vent not connected, the living room stayed hot while the bedroom was cold. A glass pane between the bedroom and living room lets light through and offers no privacy. The gym is small too.
