Driftwood Haus

We went up for the second year and stayed 2 nights in winter. Best time of year, with tons of snow! The place was super cozy and clean, with a fire place, and our dog loves the beach. See you again in 2026.

We had a good time during our 3 nights at Driftwood Haus. The units face a common area, so we got to meet other guests and share the bonfire pit with a few of them each evening. It’s dog friendly, close to the beach for spectacular sunsets, within walking distance of town and restaurants, and has a communal atmosphere. The one problem for us was the air quality in our unit. The bathroom seemed to be where the mildew odour came from. We kept its door shut and the windows open throughout our stay, which helped with some of the smell. We’d happily return, but would pick a differemy unit.

I took a solo trip with my little dog and had a fantastic stay at Driftwood Haus. It’s a peaceful, quiet, beautiful spot, just a 3 minute walk from the beach. My room was nicely decorated and had everything I needed, including coffee, towels, and bedding. The rooms open onto a courtyard with 3 sitting areas, each with a fireplace centre. Guests can also use the hot tub and sauna. The hosts were friendly and quick to answer my questions.

We spent four nights in August at Driftwood Haus, our second stay and our first in summer. The cottages are always clean and so close to the beach. Jeff was around this time, as it’s the busy season, and helped us sort out a small issue with the drain. Even though the cottages are close together, it was very quiet. That mattered a lot with our 3 year old sleeping, and hopefully meant the other guests didn’t hear her either. My only real critique is the sofa bed wasn’t comfortable, but that’s sofa beds.
