Kings Motor Inn

The rooms were very dirty and smelled like curry. I asked the lady how much a room cost, and she asked how much we wanted to pay, then charged us $125 per room even though it’s advertised at $77. Disgusting rooms and people. I’ll never stay there again.

Everything seemed perfectly fine when I checked in, and I was sleeping great. Then, around 4 AM, someone started talking and microwaving food. The noise sounded like it was coming from right inside my room, and it woke me from a deep sleep. There was a locked, inaccessible door in the room that I hadn’t understood the purpose of. I can’t believe how bizarre the whole thing was after an otherwise perfectly fine stay.

The deadbolt didn’t work, there was no closet, and the computer desk seemed to be doing duty as a dresser. The room also had marks all over the walls, a bad smell from the air conditioner, no coffee, and one of the lights over the sink was missing. The sink was outside the bathroom. We had to switch off the air conditioner and open the window to clear its smell. This motel needs serious renovations, and I wouldn’t recommend it. We were in town for one night at Sagebrush Theatre. We tried to check in early, but the girl said our room wasn’t ready and to come back at 4, or that she could call us. She never called. Once we came back, check-in was quick and easy.

The room was clean and comfortable for an overnight stop on the way to Jasper. Highway noise and train rumbling meant earplugs were needed, though there wasn’t anything they could do about that. Good location, with plenty of nearby places to get food.
