Sandman Inn Kamloops

The staff managed to find us a kettle when we asked, and the towels and bedding were clean. But the hotel is badly in need of attention. There were stains in the room and it didn’t smell great. Who paints a basement room grey? We’d booked a twin room for more space while travelling, but were offered an upgrade to a “better” double room. Disappointed doesn’t come close. The car park is always busy because it’s next door to Denny's.

The rooms were clean and well presented, and the staff made check-in easy even though we arrived late at night. Management was very helpful and accommodating, and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Thanks for the great service.

The staff were friendly enough and the service was good, but I expected the hotel shown in the picture. That building is apartments now. I posted a picture of the building you’ll actually stay in. I was asked for change when I got out of my vehicle, then again after checking in and going back to get my things. A homeless person also asked me to make a phone call for them. The area didn’t feel safe at all. The latch for locking my door from the inside was missing.

The front desk staff were super helpful and responsive, and we didn’t have any issues, though the location seemed a bit sketchy right away. Just a heads up, there are stairs at the main entrance and more stairs to the rooms, with no elevator. The rooms are basic and no-frills, but good for a stopover.
