Auberge Akamaraska

The staff were friendly and it's a cute place, but a few things got in the way. The shower is shared and down the hall. In the room, the AC display was so bright it lit everything up, enough to read by, so I switched it off. The pillows were unusually large and really firm, which made it hard to rest my head. A few small changes could make the stay much better.

The clean room, bathroom, bed, and blankets were all comfortable, and I was so pleased I wished I could stay longer. I hadn't expected much from such a small place. Thanks for giving my trip such a happy start.

Right in the heart of Kamouraska, with boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and a museum all within walking distance. They serve local beer on site, too. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and some have their own bathroom and shower.

The cold self-serve breakfast had no fresh food, which was a real disappointment and made the place feel overpriced to me. Everything was handled online, and there wasn't anyone on site. The hostel is in a charming village on the St Lawrence River, and our room had a nice river view plus a window that opened for fresh air. It was generally quiet, except when the adjoining bathroom was being used. The room was clean apart from the coffee maker. Its bathroom was split into two sections, with the shower opening directly into the room.
