Kananaskis Village felt calm and welcoming, a lovely place to disconnect for a few days and slow down. It was quieter and less crowded than Banff, which made our visit more peaceful. We saw wildlife, striking mountain scenery and incredible sunsets, and the staff and locals we met were friendly and helpful. The village is clean, well kept and easy to walk around. There are places to stay, restaurants, small shops and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the views. Nearby trails range from easy walks to more challenging hikes, and the drives around the area look like postcards. The scenery alone makes the trip worthwhile. If you're after mountain views, hiking and a quieter feel than the big tourist towns, it's well worth a visit. I'm already looking forward to going back.

After a day taking photos around Kananaskis, we often drop by Kananaskis Village. There are good hikes in the area, and you can pick up souvenirs or visit the Post Office while you're there. The restaurants serve good food, though Woody's Pub is the one we prefer.

It's a quiet, nice place with lots of hiking trails nearby and less traffic than Banff and Lake Louise. Those places get too many people and don't have enough parking, so you need to book shuttle buses for $8 one way, with long lineups.

My family enjoyed our short but sweet visit to this lovely little village, tucked away in the heart of Kananaskasis and close to nature.
