Timberland Inn

The location was great, the room was clean, and the service was extremely nice. We asked for more coffee for the French press, and Gary brought it to us. There wasn't a tea option, though. The people upstairs were loud, possibly because there isn't much sound insulation between floors. The shower head was faulty and poured water like a tap.

My husband checked in late, found the room dirty, bright, and smelling awful, then left halfway through the night and booked another hotel. We called twice the next day and emailed once. We were told the manager would call back, but it took over a week to hear anything, and then they refused a refund. A very disappointing stay and customer service experience.

For my overnight work trip, Room 9 was organized and generally clean, but several things needed attention. There were stains on the backs of some pillows and on the bed skirts, and cracks in a few spots of drywall. The shower curtain rod wasn't secured properly, so it drooped and bunched the curtain in the middle, letting water onto the floor and wall. The shower head wasn't great either. Even after adjusting it, the pressure was medium at best, and during my 15-20 minute shower the water kept shifting from hot to cold and back again. There was also water damage down the wall behind the headboards, visible only from certain angles. I hoped for more comfortable beds, but woke up with a stiff back. Overall, 7/10. If you're visiting in winter and parking behind the building, keep the hill in mind. Going down was fine, but my vehicle struggled to climb back up the snowy, slippery slope, and I had to take a few runs at it. There's also flat parking beside the front office.

The room was extremely dirty when we checked in. The sheets were stained, the floors were black with dirt, and there were two dirty footprints on the toilet. There was a strong chemical smell, and the coffee and wine cups had been left dirty by the previous guest. The sheer curtains let the outside lights illuminate the whole room. I asked them to clean it. They changed the sheets but left everything else, and wouldn't come see how dirty it was. They offered to let us check out, but there was no vacancy because of a big sports tournament. Sad to see what used to be such a nice establishment go so downhill.
