There’s plenty here for an active family holiday in any season, from mountain biking and hiking trails to rafting, kayaking, and beaches. In winter, there’s also skiing and boarding, and in summer you can golf at the many courses nearby. The outdoor pool and hot tub are open in both seasons. The condos have two or three bedrooms, full kitchens, and private hot tubs for unwinding after a day out. For skiers, Northstar Mountain Village sits above the Kimberley Alpine Resort plaza and gives you true ski-in, ski-out access. Families can enjoy the area’s backside and glade runs, which should also suit more advanced skiers. It’s an amazing destination for families, skiers, golfers, and adventurers.

We’ve been here two days and still don’t have the Wi-Fi password or any useful information to help us get oriented. The QR code in the room offered almost none of what we needed, and we couldn’t reach the on-call manager despite calling four times. The owner was short and rude when we asked for basic resort details. On arrival, the door was frozen shut, so we practically had to force our way into the room. The garage door wouldn’t close, and we weren’t told when it might be fixed. This was a very disappointing stay. I definitely don’t recommend booking a vacation with North Star Mountain Resort. I’m sure there are much better options out there.

The rooms are pretty worn and dated, but they’re spacious and have large balconies, which is nice. The AC works well, though it runs nonstop. The fitness centre is useless. Beds are fine, and I didn’t have any major complaints.

We were really happy with the stay. The rental had more than enough space, the staff were friendly, and there was plenty to do. Best of all was having a private hot tub. It’s a great spot with everything you need and more, and we’ll definitely come back.
