Home2 Suites By Hilton Kitchener

After an exhausting day, this was an awesome place to stay. The hotel was very clean, our suite had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful, and the kids had a great swim in the pool. I’ll look for more Home 2 Suites on future trips.

There was a billing error, and I had to ask two different front desk clerks before it was sorted out. The second clerk was awesome and took care of it quickly. The room also wasn’t properly cleaned when I checked in: there was a lot of odd powder on the floor beside the tub, the bathroom floor clearly hadn’t been mopped, and food from the previous guest was still in the fridge. I asked for cleaning the next day, but they only made the beds and took out the garbage. The bathroom floor and powder were left as they were.

We stayed for 3-1/2 weeks while a family member was in hospice. The front desk team made a hard time much more comfortable, especially Andrew, who went above and beyond; getting to know him and Dania was a highlight. They were welcoming to our little dog, and the space out back was handy for taking him out. The hotel was clean and recently renovated, and our suite’s kitchenette and comfortable bed suited us perfectly. Breakfast is included, and there are also nearby places for takeout or fine dining, plus a mall just down the street. An A+ experience.

We stayed for the last two nights for a wedding, and the room was clean with great amenities and a large smart TV. The fridge was bigger than average, with a freezer, and there were dishes, silverware, and a dishwasher. The front desk sign said you could borrow a cooktop and skillet; I didn’t try that feature. There were also yard games available for the back patio. The pool in the DoubleTree was easy to reach without going outside, and breakfast was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, and they quickly cleaned up after young sports teams left garbage in the halls and elevator. Despite a half dozen loud teenage boys just outside our door, we couldn’t hear them from inside. The digital key was convenient too. For the price, I couldn’t ask for more, and I’ll definitely stay here next time I’m in Kitchener.
