The coast and the people here made us want to stay longer. We spent 3 nights with Wayne and Cheryl, and they made us feel like family, with plenty of privacy, a great bed, and fantastic views. We especially liked the room with the Japanese bath and used it a lot. Wayne set up an iceberg tour, and he and our guide Boyce found 3 magnificent bergs nearby. There are several good restaurants within an easy drive, and we particularly enjoyed the Daily Catch. L'anse aux Meadows is worth seeing, but give yourself a few days for beach walks, coastal hikes, and time with the lovely people in the area.

The suite was so peaceful, with lots of windows and room to sit and read or type while looking outside. It was huge, probably bigger than some bachelor condos in Toronto, with a very comfortable king sized bed, a double vanity, a Jacuzzi tub, and a lie-down shower that could switch to a regular standing shower. We enjoyed the tub, shower, and the large TV with cable. Motion-activated lights were a nice touch, too. On a rainy day, you might be tempted to stay in there all day. Getting to our lower-level suite was less convenient. It was one of two down there, and access meant going outside around the building or asking a host to operate the elevator. That was a bit of a pain, especially during nearly 2 days of rain. We arrived in the evening, when it was dark and hard to see, but managed to get in alright. The place overlooks the ocean, away from a busy road, and the dining room was a lovely spot for breakfast, also looking out over the water. Our hosts had everything ready. Breakfast felt informal and comfortable, like being with old friends, with hearty portions and lattes. They live nearby rather than on site, and guests aren't asked to take off their shoes. This was our favourite place of the trip, and since it was our last stop, we wished we could stay longer. It had only been open since that summer, so some things were unfinished, including the elevator walls and bits of crown molding, but none of that got in the way of the many good points. We'd love to come back for a week with no itinerary, just getting up and wandering around.

The Nor'Easter Suite's Japanese bath is a real treat, and the Nor'Wester Suite looked nice too. Cheryl makes delicious espresso and cappuccino, and Wayne might play some music, which would be lovely to hear. Breakfast was excellent, the rooms were really nice, and Cheryl and Wayne are gracious, knowledgeable hosts. I highly recommend staying here.

Wayne was an incredible host, and the breakfast he made was fantastic. He also plays a mean guitar and has a great voice. The Big Blow is phenomenal. The place is newly and nicely built, with a great view of the water and morning sunrises. Linkum boat tours is just down the road, and it's a short ten minute drive to L'Anse Aux Meadows National History Site and Norstead Viking Village. If I come back, I know where I'll stay.

We felt right at home from the warm welcome. The house is beautiful, very very clean, and has an AMAZING VIEW. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with eggs, coffee or tea, juice, bacon, and home made muffins. I'd never had muffins that good before. Thank you so much for making us feel at home.
