We loved the Victorian-era character of this charming inn, and the owners were friendly and accommodating. The building has a historic feel, but everything was very clean. Thursday’s breakfast was delicious and felt like fine dining, and we slept well every night in the comfortable bed. It was also a perfect place to read our Louise Penny books. Town and a beautiful lakeside trail are an easy walk away. We’re looking forward to staying again!

There weren’t many restaurant options at this time of year, but the owners were friendly and accommodating. They offered us plates and cutlery so we could eat takeout and groceries in the salons or bar. We stayed two nights in February in the older part of the hotel and enjoyed its history and fascinating artifacts. The beds were comfy, the water pressure was impressive, and the place felt cosy and inviting. It was also a perfect base for short ski drives to Sutton, Owl’s Head and Bromont. I highly recommend this special spot!

Knowlton has lovely shops, restaurants, and trails to explore, and the inn was a perfect place to rest while we skied in the area. We spent six nights in a queen suite, and the room was spotless with a comfortable bed. The inn is full of old-world character and charm. Our hosts made us feel welcome and went out of their way with lots of little extras. Although the restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast for part of our stay, our host made us a delicious breakfast to start the day. Our lovely host also provided three delicious dinners while the restaurant was closed. They really made us feel at home. We plan to return next year.

Our Queen suite was a good size and really nice, with a door onto a gallery where we could sit and enjoy the quiet. The owners were friendly and welcoming, and seemed willing to help with anything we needed. We especially enjoyed talking with them about their experience running the inn and what they knew about the town. It’s a well-preserved heritage inn, and the old inn atmosphere is still very much there.

We’d hoped to book a suite but left it too late, so we had a smallish room with twin beds over the long Labour Day weekend. Still, it had all the comforts of home, and we really liked it. The lounges were very comfortable, with three mini refrigerators, a toaster, a microwave, and other handy things easily available to everyone. The owners take a personal and professional interest in their guests’ well-being and enjoyment. Soothing music and all the antique furniture and objects give the common rooms a lovely ambience, and every detail seems thought through for comfort. And the breakfast? DIVINE!!! For Louise Penny fans visiting Three Pines Country and wondering where to stay in Knowlton, don’t hesitate to book the Auberge Lakeview Inn at 50, Victoria St. You won’t regret it. Next time I’ll reserve ahead.
