Nevis Estate Boutique Hotel

The building and rooms are beautiful, and the staff are friendly. We were the only guests staying overnight, yet there was no hot water. We were told it was because the washing machine was running. Good thing there weren't five full rooms! We also had trouble reaching management to discuss a possible surcharge. They called after our stay and clarified things, and were approachable and responsive. It's a nice place, though we ran into a few problems that management addressed promptly.

My partner and I booked months ahead for a romantic weekend, but I had to leave the building for my car in under ten minutes. Air freshener from machines mounted on the walls triggered a migraine, and I took medication as soon as I got to the car. My partner was told she should have mentioned my perfume allergy when making the reservation. They refused a refund and said the full amount would be charged to her card. We had traveled to Perth specifically for this hotel, and our weekend was ruined. We were very disappointed.

The women were super friendly, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, so I'll definitely return. Nevis Estate is a large property, and the lane runs beside the architecturally historic Perth GH. There's a circular flower garden in the middle of the roundabout driveway. The building looks smaller from outside, perhaps because it's set so far back from the road, than it feels once you're inside.

We celebrated our anniversary in the Lagavulin room and loved the L’Occitane toiletries. Rona was so friendly and even surprised us with celebratory cakes. The hotel is beautiful and stately, with the estate's history visible in the well-appointed rooms and old lumber floors. We'll be back!
