Hôtel Ô Laval

Check-in was easy, and they were accommodating about us travelling with a pet. We were very happy with the room and the experience until construction began on the roof directly above us at 6:30am. The wall behind the bed frame was vibrating, and we both woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. That was really upsetting after travelling for 16 hours and needing somewhere to rest.

I stayed here in August 2025 after booking two rooms in June 2025, well in advance, for three nights. I paid the full amount up front. On check-in day, I called to say I was still travelling and would be late, and they confirmed both rooms would be kept for me and that I could arrive anytime. I got to the motel around 1:30am with my family, and they had given one of my rooms to someone else. I'd paid in full and called ahead. Tired and unsure what to do in the middle of the night, I took the key to the one room and called nearby hotels and motels. Nothing was available. After many calls, I found only one option, and it was very expensive, so I stayed there for the night. The next morning I spoke with the manager of Motel Newstar. They said I could have the room for the other two days of the trip and that they'd refund me. I asked several times for proof of this conversation, but they wouldn't email or give me anything, saying the manager was off that day and could email me later. It felt like a trick. A few days after we got home, we called and they denied any refund. They didn't even seem sorry that they'd sold the same room to two different people. Worst experience ever!!!!!

I stayed five nights. The room was fine, and I wasn't expecting the Hilton for that rate. But I asked for the room to be refreshed, and it never happened. That was poor.

Very clean, great rates, and the towels were great. I'd highly recommend it. They could use smart TVs and microwaves in the rooms, though maybe not having them is part of why the place stays so clean.
