St. Martin Executive Tower

The rooms were very clean, but the sound insulation wasn't great. The meal was a bigger disappointment: they were out of salad, which I didn't want anyway, but it turned out salad was the side served with every dish. I asked if the price would come down since my order was now just a sandwich, and got a blunt no. I paid full price for it, with no side, and was told I could order a pizza if I wasn't happy. That didn't feel like good service from a hotel that calls itself the best in Laval. I'd been here before for a friend's wedding and had a much better experience then, so I'm giving it three stars.

The breakfast was exceptional, and the hotel is close to lots of shopping, with Place Bell just a one-mile walk away for events. The rooms were fresh and clean, with all the comforts, and the hallways had an elegant, tasteful look without seeming dated. We'd happily return and bring friends and family. Highly recommend.

Delta Airlines canceled our flight because of the winter storm, and the hotel still charged me for the full stay before we had even arrived, at check-in time. I hadn't booked a discounted, nonrefundable rate. I understand charging for the first night, but the whole stay felt excessive. They wouldn't offer a future credit or work with me at all, and the cancellation policy is very strict. I realize it's their policy and that it's my own fault, but anyone booking should know about it. Booking one night at a time might help avoid a situation like mine. It looked like a lovely hotel, which is why I chose it, and I wish we'd been able to stay. I won't consider it again in case something unexpected happens.

The staff made us feel welcome, and I had a peaceful night's sleep. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and beautifully served, easily one of the best I've had. I'd definitely return.
