Sheraton Laval Hotel

This was the second time we’d come to this hotel and found it overrun by sports teams. A Valentines night that was meant to be relaxing became stressful as we had to navigate loud youths. If the hotel focuses on providing rooms for youth sports teams, it should try to offer rooms on other floors to guests who aren’t part of those organizations. This wasn’t what we expected, and we will not be back.

I was awake most of the night because the king bed’s frame made a loud noise whenever we moved. My wife had just returned from her flight and had been up since 2am, so she fell asleep. The front desk staff were very nice at check-in, but when I mentioned the bed at checkout, all they said was they were sorry to hear it. For what I paid, I expected a lot more and wouldn’t recommend the place. The Spa was amazing and its staff were great, 10/10. The hotel room gets 2/10.

Room #407 on December 24 wasn’t renovated as advertised and didn’t look like the pictures. Breakfast was motel quality, which was disappointing at a Sheraton. The pastries tasted stale and burnt, the eggs were the cheap kind usually found in budget motels, and the food quality was poor overall. We ordered an American breakfast but never got the cereal, bacon, or juice. I also asked for milk for my daughter and ketchup, and neither arrived. The total came to $55 USD + $10 tip, about $80 CAD, and it wasn’t worth it. Service was inattentive, and the food didn’t match the brand’s reputation. Very disappointing. I won’t be going back next year.

We rented a suite for $500 on a Saturday because it was advertised as “Great for hosting your Guests.” Starting at 8:30pm, we were harassed multiple times over noise complaints, even though we had no music on and the TV wasn’t blaring. Truly a terrible experience. I recommend avoiding this hotel.
