Celine and her husband were so kind and welcoming. They both spoke English, which helped since our French is limited. We had a delicious home-cooked breakfast, and the room matched the pictures: comfortable, quaint, and equipped with all the amenities. Gite La Marchante is also within walking distance of excellent restaurants and the boardwalk. We enjoyed our one-night stay.

We loved where it was, and our room was clean. The service was nice, too.

The sunsets were the one bright spot and helped make up for how disappointed we were. This old trailer was dirty, not new as we had been led to expect, and it didn't match the website or what we were told when renting. The armchairs smelled dusty, the blinds were dusty, and tape was holding the mosquito nets together. A wardrobe door came off in my hand, the kitchen table slid off the wall when touched, the sink leaked, and the shower door was hard to open. The refrigerator didn't work and had been replaced by a small one. There were other problems as well. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We were stranded there yesterday, and Céline and her partner came to our rescue by offering us a place to park our RV for the night. The river view and sunset, plus a campfire right on the shore, made for an amazing start to our vacation! ☀️

The price is still very reasonable, though I'd have gladly paid more for a safer place. The owner's very nice, but maintenance feels careless and slapdash. It’s a beautiful spot, yet poorly kept, so expect something just okay, with way too many extension cords overloading the system. There's even a nail sticking out of the bathroom wall that could be dangerous for a child. I could easily have fixed things in his little Vantage chalet with a few tools and odds and ends. Unfortunately, he doesn't take guest feedback, even when I think it's constructive. The location, though, is magical: direct access to the waterfront and close to grocery stores, restaurants, bistros, shops, and just steps from the famous Sainte-Luce beach. The sunsets are stunning, too. That's why I gave it three stars.
