The Elk cottage worked well for us: two bedrooms, a equipped kitchen, and pretty much everything we needed, so we packed less. The bedrooms have electric baseboard heat, while the living room has a wood-burning fireplace. In colder winter weather, I'd bring a space heater if you don't want to keep burning wood. We had a couple of snags when we arrived, but site manager Raj sorted them out quickly, even over the busy Thanksgiving weekend, and I appreciated that. It's pet friendly, too. We spent Thanksgiving weekend right on Ahmic Lake, with great hiking trails nearby. The restaurant was handy when we didn't feel like cooking, and the food was awesome, especially the Schnitzel dinners and Cordon Bleu. We also had fun in the Sports Bar and enjoyed live music Saturday night.

The location is really beautiful, and I can imagine it being stunning in summer or fall. We came for a winter wedding nearby, though, and the room was very bare and cold. Bring space heaters, plenty of blankets, and your own shampoo and conditioner since none were provided. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and there were no pillowcases. The staff were very friendly and quick to help when we needed them.
We had a cozy, relaxing winter stay in a clean, well-kept cabin. The fireplace and hot tub were great, and management was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our visit.
The restaurant serves good food, and the portions are definitely generous, so arrive hungry. I went in October for my 50th birthday, when it was off season, and got to spend time with my family as well as relax a bit. We went boating and fishing, and I'm sure there are other activities available too.
The beach was lovely, with clean water and a lake bottom that felt comfortable for swimming. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the grounds seem to be cared for. The cabins are older, but ours was cozy and clean, with fresh bedding. Cabin 8 wasn't a great fit for us. It had no direct water access, so we had to walk to the shared beach. The playground beside it got noisy early in the morning, making it hard to relax. You can also see the road from both the cabin and beach, which takes away some of the peaceful lake feel. Inside, the doors creaked and the taps didn't work very well, with water pressure that kept changing. I'd expect a nicer stay in a cabin closer to the lake and farther from the playground.
