Auberge du Draveur

The Saturday night band was fun, and there was a wide choice of drinks, including plenty of nonalcoholic cocktails. The food was excellent too. Myriam at reception upgraded our room, so we had a spacious place with great air conditioning. We had a lovely stay at the Auberge des draveurs!

The restaurant is excellent, especially the world class pizza, and parking works great when I'm bringing my boat trailer. I've been coming here every year for 15 years, staying a Friday night on the way to my vacation and a Saturday on the way back. I spend a week fishing with an exclusive rights outfitter about 150 miles north, so this place suits my trip perfectly. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the price is reasonable.

Mariam was amazing. She helped me book by phone in fluent English, then called to check that I’d received the reservation email I needed. I met her again at check-in, and she was polite and clearly knew her job. The hotel is great for the price, with a perfect location and good rooms.

The staff were warm and kind, and dogs are allowed. The restaurant service was good and the food was good overall, though I ordered escargot as an entrée and thought a few more snails would have balanced out all that cheese. I didn't get to try the spa or sauna. In Maniwaki, this is one of just two options, and I do plan to return, now that I know what to expect. For $232 a night, I expected a room that didn't look like it was falling apart. The king suite bed was very comfortable and the room was clean, but it was dated and needed TLC. Wallpaper was peeling over nails sticking out of the walls, a sheer curtain panel was missing from a window, I couldn't work out the bedside lights, there was black mildew at the top of a window, and the poorly fitted carpet was a tripping hazard.
