Liberty Suites Hotel

The location at Yonge & Steeles is so convenient, with lots of restaurants and shops close by. Our room was spacious, and the free parking was a big plus. The staff were all kind and welcoming, and I liked being able to control the temperature myself. We were very grateful for the complimentary upgrade to a room with a balcony. The room information says kitchenware and cooking utensils can be rented for an extra fee if requested ahead of time. With a proper fridge and kitchen already there, this seems like a good option for a longer stay. There's also a Chinese grocery store in the basement of the building, handy for buying groceries and cooking your own meals.

Our room was upgraded, which was a nice surprise, and it was clean and tidy. It had a full kitchen with all the amenities, and breakfast was provided in the morning. Parking was convenient too. Great customer service made for a comfortable, pleasant stay at Liberty Suites Hotel.

I wouldn't call this a comfortable stay. The beds weren't comfortable either, worse than ones I've had at cheap motels, and I could hear everything from the neighboring room, the hallway, and the floor above at all hours. After the first night, I told the front desk I didn't want to stay a second night and would rather go home early. They offered neither another room nor a refund for that night, citing their policy. Expedia spoke with them too, without success. If you book several nights, be aware that after checking in you can't change the booking and will be charged for the full stay. You're stuck with whatever room you get, even if it's uncomfortable or noisy. One useful point: on-site parking is available.

They call this a “Luxury hotel” and advertise a full kitchen, but you pay extra for pots, pans, and dishes. The room had four cardboard cups, and the queen bed was actually a double. Sadly, I can't recommend staying here. Spend your money on a real luxury hotel.
