We had to sort out dinner ourselves, so bring food and heat it in the room microwave. The room was spacious, clean, and practical, and the people running the place were friendly and helpful when we visited.

Three weeks later, I'm still trying to untangle this, and I lost my main credit card halfway through a 32 day trip. Be careful if an EMPLOYEE calls as you're arriving and says something went wrong with your credit card, then asks you to provide it again. What a mess. Owner of the hotel, you can contact me.

Mayo has limited services, though there is a grocery store, and you'll need to plan on preparing your own meals. The rooms have a fridge and microwave. For exploring the Silver Trail, this is a good place to stay, even though it feels like the edge of nowhere. The motel reopened this year under new management, and the rooms have been renovated. They're large and clean, with AC that was necessary during the current heatwave, plus good internet. The young folks operating the motel are great!

The hallway is smelly and noisy, with lots of echo, and the doors slam loudly. In our room, the window wouldn't close properly and the bent screen left a gap for bugs, even after the recent renovations. The staff were helpful and very informative. For the price, even by Yukon standards, the room fell short. Still, it wasn't a bad place to stay for one night.

For somewhere this remote, the Wi-Fi was fast, and the lamps had USB ports and plugs, so charging a phone beside the bed was easy. I think the place was recently renovated, since everything felt fresh and new. We stayed while working for YEC, and liked it much more than either hotel we used in Whitehorse when flying in and out. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm back for work!
