Western Star All Suites Melita

I gave it full stars mostly because of the lovely waitress, and because the whole thing was entertaining. Thanks Jamie Karrrr! I know where this character lives, so I can bring him that drink I promised. A couple I’d seen him yelling at later found me at a nearby gas station. They’d noticed my gorgeous truck outside and asked if I knew the older fellow. I did know of him from a few years back, so I explained what had just happened. It’s too bad, since the lovely bartender/waitress, her kids at home, and anyone else who might come along someday could probably use the extra sales and tips. I’d met the waitress a couple of weeks earlier, and without her I would’ve given fewer stars. This time, I was looking for my wallet when I ran into James Auto coming out the back door. I said hello and asked how he was doing, and he told me to leave, not later, but right now. I didn’t want to make him look bad, so I started to go. I said I’d come back and buy him a drink once I found my wallet. He also told everyone else who drove up to get out, like he was scaring customers away. He said he lived at the cemetery, which is an odd place to live. I guess it’s a short ride in the Hurst. He’ll tell you where to go and how to get there, as long as he isn’t tripping over your vehicle while trying to get a little closer. It struck me as kind of off. Maybe he thought I was going deaf and couldn’t hear him yelling at me to leave. I think I saw the same lovely couple he’d yelled at near a gas station, after they noticed my gorgeous truck and stopped in thinking it belonged to someone else. Edited soon after: Ah, what the heck, full stars! Mostly for the lovely waitress, but I was entertained too.

It’s been a dive bar forever, so I don’t know why anyone expects five-star hotel rooms. It’s open and there’s beer. What more are people looking for? Ignore the whiners.

We got wonderful service from the hotel manager. He was really pleasant and top notch.

I parked under the driveway awning to get some shade from the oppressive heat. There’s not much here besides a restaurant and a giant banana, with Sunny the banana and his sidekick Breezy across the street. The place looks run down and closed. If it isn’t, it probably should be. Enjoy, if that’s possible.
