Hillcrest Motel

We had nowhere to stay after arriving, because only then were we told our room wasn’t available due to a fire incident. I understand emergencies happen, but getting the news at the last minute left us without any accommodation options nearby. We ended up spending the night at a gasoline station since we couldn’t find another room. It was a very uncomfortable and inconvenient situation.

WARNING, BED BUG INFESTATION!!!!! I stayed here for a while while working, and the room hadn’t been cleaned when I moved in. There were dirty face clothes in the bathroom, and the fridge was stained, sticky, and disgusting. When I complained, the owner said people leaving at the end of their stay clean the rooms, which is no way to run a motel. There should be housekeeping to make sure things are sanitary for the next guest. He even asked me to deal with the dirty face clothes and bring them up instead of cleaning them himself. The worst part was getting bitten all over by bed bugs. I found 5 during my stay, and when I told him, he didn’t even flinch or seem concerned, and refused that they had them. The owner was rude and showed no consideration for guests. The place was also full of addicts, who tried to break into rooms and steal. Dirtiest place I’ve ever been. I do not recommend this motel to anybody. 100% do not recommend.

The room was clean and the location was not fairly quiet. The bathroom was decent, but still mid-renovation, with an unfinished ceiling. In the entry, the work was only partly done, leaving exposed insulation and unprotected outlets. It was very hot inside. They brought us another fan to move the air, but it didn’t help, though the fan noise did make the people walking around upstairs harder to hear. The bed was hard and noisy whenever you moved, and the pillows were very thin. We were getting in at 10:00pm and were too tired to ask for more pillows.

We took one look at the room and left without our money. There were dogs and cats, dirt and stains, see-through curtains, TVs that didn’t work, a hard bed, cigarette smells everywhere, and reviews mentioning bedbugs. There were drug users in the parking lot, too. What more could you want? 🤔
