I love that the Governor's Mansion has little museum cards beside the artwork and historical objects. None of the other historic houses I’ve stayed in had that. Thankfully, all the beds are modern and comfy. It’s in a great spot along the river, where you can watch fishermen come and go all day.

We stayed in the room Queen Elizabeth II stayed in, and it was amazing. The Governor’s Mansion feels like a doorway through time, just stunning. The hosts were amazing too!

The Inn was beautifully furnished, and those lathe and plaster walls gave it a quiet stillness. It looks straight onto the Miramichi River, in a beautiful location. We stayed one night with our three children on the way to Nova Scotia, in a suite with two adjoining rooms, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The main bedroom was so huge that the kids played hide and seek in it. The king bed had crisp sheets and excellent pillows, and we felt like the Governor and his wife. The children loved their romantic, cozy room with the slanted roof and all the pillows. We plan to come back, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic retreat.

What a find! We came across this place on an ATV/side-by-side app and were so glad we booked, even though we didn’t know what to expect. The mansion has exactly the kind of setting and atmosphere that would suit a murder mystery or Clue weekend if you booked the whole place. Can’t wait to come back with friends!

The family suite was lovely, with a comfortable king bed and a separate room with two single beds for the kids. Mike was gracious, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. The Governor's Mansion was better than I expected. We like unique properties, though in my experience inns like this can be unpredictable. The river nearby was nice, but the property isn’t within any of the towns that make up Miramichi. The bathroom was a bit odd, which I expected in a historic conversion. My only complaint was that the coffee maker didn’t work.
