The staff were friendly, but the room wasn’t worth the nearly $300 I paid for the night. The switches and lights in the headboard didn’t work, and I needed a plug for my CPAP machine. I ended up stacking pillows and a bag on a chair so the cord could reach the only working outlet near the bed, which was above the windows by the air conditioner. I told the front desk the next morning and got a shrug and a promise to pass it along to management. I expected some reimbursement for being given a room that wasn’t functional, so that response felt like a poor effort to deal with an unhappy customer. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also bad enough that I left a separate review for it. I visit Mont Laurier several times a year and love the area, but I won’t stay at this hotel or eat at its restaurant again. Owners, don’t reply unless you intend to offer some reimbursement. I hope other guests don’t run into the same problems.

The place needs updating. The shower setup is dated, the entry area has poor lighting, and the drink machine wasn’t working. The old, noisy AC and heat unit under the window woke me up at night. Very disappointing.

The staff were warm and helpful, and there was plenty of parking. The on-site restaurant was closed, though, so there was no free breakfast. There also wasn’t a microwave in the room, which seemed odd given how many guests appeared to be staying long term, even though the room listing doesn’t promise one. This is one of their older properties, and the room felt dated. The basic armchair wasn’t comfortable for watching TV, and the TV wasn’t smart. I don’t like having to switch on both the TV and cable box, then return to the TV to choose the input. The bathroom was old too, with a tub you have to step over. I’d rather have a walk-in shower.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, with plenty of parking. It was also convenient to have a restaurant and bar on site. I had a billing problem at checkout, and Aby and the hotel staff responded quickly to my concern. They refunded the charge and sorted it out promptly. I really appreciated that.

Room 211 was passable, though it looked dated. The fridge ran so cold it froze most of my things, and there was no way to adjust it. There’s only one ice machine for this large complex, and it was out of order. With so many rooms, they should have at least two. Having a second one would also mean a backup if one stops working.
